Dominik Ellenrieder Venture Partner
Dominik joined the Endeavour Vision team as Venture Partner in September 2007. His role is to work with the team on new Med Tech investments and contribute to the development of the portfolio.
He is a graduate of Basel University in economics and holds an MBA from GSBA/Boston University. In 1983 he started his career with Protek AG (later Sulzer Medica), a company specializing in hip and knee joint medical technology, where he held the title of VP of International Sales. In 1988 he joined Straumann, a global leader in implant and restorative dentistry and oral tissue regeneration, where he held a series of managerial positions with increasing responsibilities (development, product management, operations of affiliated companies) and took part in the Synthes-Stratec management buy-out., a world leader in the field of orthopaedic trauma.
In 2000, Dominik co-founded Kuros Therapeutics AG, a biotechnology and tissue engineering company. He was Chairman of the Board until 2002, when it was sold to Straumann AG, which was keen to apply Kuros’ novel technology to improving dental care. As a result Dominik co-founded Kuros Biosurgery AG, which focused on the non-dental activities of the company. Kuros Biosurgery AG has around 70 employees in research and development of skin and bone regeneration projects.
Dominik sits on the board of Straumann Holding AG (SWX: STMN) and is Vice-President of the Board of Medartis AG, a company developing, manufacturing and selling implants for the Upper Extremity and the Head. He is also President and majority owner of Sentec AG, a company founded in 2000 that focuses on non-invasive continuous patient monitoring (C02 and others).
Dominik lives in St.Sulpice, Switzerland and has three sons. |
